Read on another message board, from a pretty reliable SC poster, that there are rumblings (which are growing) about South Caroline possibly luring Bud Foster away from VT for the DC position. Anyone else heard anything about this? Furthermore, if it does happen, LSU needs to nail down a top-notch DC soon.

I'm not too terribly sure that one performance discredits Foster as a defensive coordinator. I thought that it was generally well-known that he was one of the best in the country.

And his defensive stats were rung up against the ACC. Nuff said.

No. Not "Nuff said". He racked up those stats in the ACC...consistently. Oh yeah, and that John Tenuta guy from Georgia Tech that everyone's been fawning over...ACC! Have you ever seen VT's recruiting? It's not terribly great and in many places sub-par. Bud Foster has done more with less. Truth.

no way you can possibly compare va tech's talent on defense to ga techs and say foster has less. who have you ever heard of on ga tech's defense??? maybe phillip wheeler, foster has adibi, hall, flowers, harris, chris ellis, all likely 1st or 2nd round picks. tenuta does way more with less and has more academic interference in recruiting. the ACC had no real good offense this year, matt ryan was hyped but he didnt do that much against va tech, and facts are facts, we lit foster up with those studs on defense and georgia lit him up as well, georgia also lit up ga tech but ga tech shut auburn down a few years ago as well

Has Bud Foster been the DC at VT for just this year? Are you an idiot who's missing the point? I'm NOT(!!!) saying LSU should be going after him; I AM saying that if he's swayed over to South Carolina, then it's a damn good hire that only reflects more the need for LSU to hire a proven DC. I seriously laugh at anyone's suggestion that Bud Foster isn't a proven DC. There have been WAY MORE years when he didn't have draft-level talent. What's the excuse for when LSU came knockin' down in Blacksburg? Oh, I guess our offense just wasn't on its game, right? You people completely missed the point and sure are quick to bash someone who's a damn fine coordinator.

Local VT beat reporter(also a poster on VT message boards) said he talked to Foster's Agent and he's not going to SCar. Now if you believe his agent and the reporter, then I'd say VT is safe for now.

The majority of VT fans and Foster have always said and felt he wouldn't go somewhere else and be a DC, he wants a head coaching gig.

We'll see how it plays out; I know Foster isn't gonna' stay in Beamer's shadow forever.

Umm - Glennon and the OFFENSE had 4 turnovers in the 2nd half in that game.

Not exactly Bud Foster and the defense's fault.

Isn't the first time Spurrier has gone after foster. when Stoops went to Oklahoma he went after Foster at Florida.

i think an idiot would be someone who says georgia tech has more talent than virginia tech in the first place, also someone who thinks foster would leave virginia tech, my point was he hasnt done to well against SEC offenses. it was easy to stop duke, north carolina, wake forest in the ACC and easy to stop syracuse, BC, or west virginia before rodriguez back when they were in the big east. by saying he is going to SC i dont see how that means we should hurry to hire a coordinator, anyone would want to come here, him supposedly going to south carolina doesnt really make a difference to us. and if he was such a damn fine coordinator he might have been a head coach by now but he isnt and i think you should go to blacksburg since you think he is so great and we can take tenuta who did more with less

e-mail I got today, it said Foster is looking for a HC job, and he feels being a DC in the SEC will give him a leg up.

All the word I'm hearing from inside sources and from SoCar sources is that his agent was contacted but politely declined. Sounds like they are going after Tenuda.

Bud Foster is an incredible defensive coordinator. Anyone who believes otherwise is dumb.
