A friend got an email from them asking him to interview. Does anyone know anything about them? All I told is that they do construction for offshore oil & gas and that they're based out of Lafayette at least around here. Anything else I need to tell him?

What kind of position?
The construction yard is actually at the Port of Iberia.
I think all they have in Lafayette is a corporate office.

Makes sense. I think he said they do a rotational management training program that takes you through estimating, project controls, HR, site supervision, sales, procurement, ect over the course of a year or two. It's for new hires out of college.

I know of two guys that went through this with them. One is still with the company, I think.
The yard at the Port has been very slow for the last 5 or 6 months. They laid off a large portion of the blue collar workforce. Don't know about office staff. I suppose they see the same boom coming everyone else does so they are trying to gear up.
They have had a presence with the shale plays in Texas and in the northeast.
If he is fresh out of school, probably not a bad place to at least get some experience.

Just wondering, the guy that stayed with them, any idea what he's making now?

No, I have no idea. After his "training" he was in a sales type position for a while.
From what I understand about other positions, the pay is competitive.

Land based oilfield construction

How does it compare to petrochemical construction? I'm more familiar with that price range, so that would be more helpful

I think dii got some work at port of Iberia, but like was said above the yard looks like a ghost town especially when you compare it to Chart right across the channel. Chart is so busy I heard they run 2-3 shifts.

I had never heard of them until I had to do some stuff in new Iberia.
I also had not done a lot of offshore services work either.
