We went there just for the hell of it tonight. I always enjoy my visits.

I had the catfish, braised greens, field peas and cornbread (I'm a man of the people). My wife had a vegetable plate.

The warm pecan pie with Jack Daniels ice cream for dessert.

Two whiskey drinks for me and a vodka for my wife.

Bill was about $50. Very reasonable, imo.

Reminds me of a neighborhood diner . . . and I guess it is in a way.

It was one of the last places I ate at before moving away from nola. I love that place.

No sober lent for you, eh?

High Hat is always good. It really is a neighborhood diner that offers a little more.

Almost went Monday for lunch, but it was slammed. Walked to Wayfare and it was just as crowded.

Great Freret St. landmark.

I can honestly say that I'm cutting back. Falling off of a bicycle on Magazine St. will do that to you.

Well this is funny. Did something very similar during my mardi gras on that very same street.

And that's why you don't ride your bike down magazine. Always take Camp for short distances, or the Prytania Expressway from Audobon to Downtown for longer treks.

Love me some High Hat. Been a little bit. I need to go back.

I was about to post the same thing. I don't understand why these hipsters feel the need to ride down Mag when Camp is one block up and wider than Mag with no traffic. Only good place to ride down Mag is the part that is one way between WHD and UPT. Can't wait to hear the story of the crash.

Another word about High Hat, too many hard surfaces.

You know me. Hipster gonna be hipster.

I actually agree about Magazine and bicycles. I was actually intending to cross magazine but all of a sudden the street became a little unstable.

I eat High Hat at least once a week. Maybe VOR is that old disgruntled drunk I see every so often.
