UGA hires South Alabama DC as defensive assistant

Kevin Sherrer has been hired as a defensive assistant coach. Likely to coach linebackers but it hasn't been announced as to what position he'll coach just yet.

What's his background? Hasn't USA been doing okay since they made the move to 1A?

He was Director of Player Development at Alabama while Pruitt was there and Hoover HS before that.

He was at Bama with Pruitt, DC at Hoover HS before his tenure at Bama.

6-6 this year. 4 of their losses were by 2 pts or less, and they lost to Tennessee by a TD with a chance to tie on the last play. And they delivered beat downs to both ULM and UL at the end of the season. They were close to being pretty good.

The plan is for Sherrer to coach LBs and Pruitt to coach DBs.
