How can anyone not enjoy this movie? I saw it twice with my goddaughter, she loved it that much.

Take away the songs and I loved it, with the songs it was still a very good movie.

Yeah, no doubt that Planes was a better movie.

Clear troll job. Ignore him.

They never explained the 'powers' or the trolls.

Why does that need to be explained? Just go with midiclorians as your answer.

quote:

The parents keep them locked up, never to even talk?

It's implied that they talk some, they just grew distant from one another.

quote:

The queen runs away and wants to become a hermit in an ice castle?

Pretty clear you missed not only the point of her character, but the point of the entire film. She was basically trained from a child to shut out everyone and everything. Being a hermit in a ice castle comes pretty natural to her. Once she overcomes this and opens her heart to others, then the winter ends.

quote:

Although predictable, the prince turning into the bad guy was a twist, but his plot to take over was developed awfully quick in his head. He friended her, fell in 'love', and then decided when she left to try and take over?

The guy was there to marry the Queen, but saw that she was some shut out who was incredibly cold, so fat chance he gets her. However the second in line for the throne is completely irrationally into him, so he makes lemonade out of lemons and then plans to murder off the Queen at some point when he marries the younger sister. I don't see why this would be too hard to come up with on the fly when those are your motives.

No, where her powers came from. I didn't notice the trolls being magical, other than turning into rocks. The oldest one was wise, but other than their musical talent, not very magical.

You are aware that before there were powers caused by things like radioactive spider bites, drinking a chemical compound, or having microscopic bacteria in your system, the explanation as simple as magic typically sufficed.

quote:

I understand that. Still doesn't make much sense. Sure, the king thought she would be able to control them, but no go. I assume the housekeepers knew of the powers, which is why they kept them separate, but did nothing to help her for the coronation?

Why do you think they didn't try to help. There were various lords, kings, and princes there from other places with small armies of their own. This supposedly happened in the Middle Ages? Do you really not think they wouldn't have a witch hunt?

I only saw it once, but I think he actually says this pretty much word for word to the sister

he even says in the "love song";

"I've been searching my whole life to find my own place, and suddenly I bump into you"

that doesn't sound like loving a person as much as loving their claim on a title.

They need to take Hans Christian Andersen's name out of the credits. The movie has absolutely zero to do with the Snow Queen story. It's like saying that a movie is based on Huckleberry Finn, except that it's about two sisters who are princesses.

Wow. So how many animated films have you seen if this ranks as the worst? Not even close.

I respectfully disagree. IMHO Frozen is the best movie Disney has put out since The Lion King.

It's very good and destined to be remade and become a major hit musical on Broadway.

My wife and I took our neices to see it. Great decision. We loved the twist at the end where they deviated from the "traditional" princess ending. We had some great conversations with the girls about what ir means for them to be good sisters to each other.

Plus the snowman was awesome.
