I know it is a different scenario, but it seemed to work out for us pretty well in 2009.

That was a team that secured the 1 seed by week 16, handled their business on the road, and won games that they should have won (Buffalo, Jets, Giants, etc). The two teams aren't comparable imo.

So Arizona? Even though we beat them?

I dont know how they are playing right now, but lets take Team A: they come out flat to start the season, then pull it together and go on a tear toward the back end of the season.

Then theres Team B (Saints) that get progressively worse as the season unfolds and skid in to the playoffs losing 4 of the last 5.

Which team do you think is more likely to advance deep in the playoffs?

My money would be Team A. I havent looked at their Ws and Ls and watched them play so i cant say if they are Team A. I dont know if they "deserve" to be in, but they would clearly be the better team right now.

I can tell you right now, the way weve been playing, we stand a very good chance of being 1 and done regardless of how we do this weekend.

All i know is they won 6 of their last 7. Weve lost 3 of our last 4. Theyre hot. we're not.

we "deserve" it becuase we beat them. but i think theyre the better team right now.

I wish there was a way us and Arizona could both make it, I hate the 49ers. I like Arizona after they drafted all those LSU players

While the Saints back in with a loss and an AZ loss, wins by the Saints and Az will give the Saints the 5 seed, and a reasonable route to the superbowl...could even get a home game out of it if SF beats Seattle. (not counting on anything from Atlanta).
But yes, just beating the Rams would have put the Saints in the 2 seed with a W Sunday.

We are one win away from wrapping up the two seed. Yes we "deserve" to be in the playoffs.

The only way we don't deserve it is if we lose and Arizona wins. You are letting your emotions get the better of you.

Has anyone ever lost 4 of their last 5 and still made the playoffs?

Oh man... Let me dig deeeeeeeep into my brain and go waaaaaaay back to 365 days ago when Baltimore did it. I can't recall what happened to them once they got in tho. Probably lost the first game.
