Ed Reed benched by Texans

Ed Reed was the Texans big-ticket acquisition this off-season. But his first eight games with the Texans haven’t been worth the price of admission.
After missing the first two games due to injury, Reed has yet to register a win in a Texans uniform. The team still lists him as a starter but against the Colts it was D.J. Swearinger and Shiloh Keo who started the game at safety, neither had ever started an NFL game coming into this season. Meanwhile, Reed was used almost exclusively as the third safety in the dime package.

It's too bad he didn't retire after last year and gone out on top. Sad to see his career end in a whimper like this.

I'm not going to lose any sleep over it.

he is garbage
He is the greatest safety of all-time.
While he is obviously not the player he was before, he could suit up as a 60 year old man and I would still never refer to him as garbage.

Im sure glad bob McNair got on that jet and kissed reed's rings to convince him to join the texans
Reed was washed up years ago. Reed is the texan's problem in a nutshell: overhype, under deliver, too stubborn to see the truth.

McNair thought the fans were stupid enough to overlook all the losses over the last couple of years due to the cap because he brought aboard a big name like Ed Reed. And many of them were, unfortunately.

Oh, so now Ed Reed is the fall guy for such a shite season. Nice.

Who said he's the "fall guy?" If it's anyone, it's Schaub.
Dude has blown and has played based on name recognition alone (he was signed on name rec alone).

i believe the phrase that they havent won a game he played in is what mightve rubbed them wrong.

Maybe the Saints can follow Houston's lead and make a trade for Polamalu in the off-season to get them over the top?

When he gets cut, Stephen will sign him for next year. Book it.
