Nah, it looked like UGA was gonna rip LSU apart in the SECCG in 2011, in the first quarter.

I figure UGA jumps out by 10-14 yearly and LSU comes back.

I don't think they've seen a defense as good as ours yet, even with the losses. We should be able to put up 35 or more on them.

USC may be as good as LSU on defense. Ranked close, and really haven't played a cupcake yet.

I think it's definitely going to be a shoot out. Our defense can't hold Murray unfortunately. Rewatching the game, Eugene is absolutely LOST with the ball in the air.

He played well earlier when he was at nickel, but safety is not looking good. Mills and tre are pretty solid though, so we shall see.

Going to be a tough game unless the defense really steps up.

Yeah. But Arron Murray is the top rated QB and passer. They also beat us in total offense by a wide margin.

Also, their schedule up to this point has been about twice as hard.

It is still the same Aaron Murray that is something like 3-8 against top 25 ranked SEC teams and is like 4-12 against top 25 ranked teams over all (end of season rank).

Says UGA is harder to prepare for, but LSU is harder to defend.

My brain can't process this

Uh huh. Schematic wise they are close.

They had no problem bearing the absolute crap out of USCe.

Edwards described it as .. UGA shows more varied line-ups and formations, they spread it out more, LSU is usually aligned with 3 WRs

He along with any that really watches LSU, are really impressed with Mettenberger, Not only does he throw accurately, but he makes the right throws., i.e. not only throws where he intends, but he has been really good with ball placement.

Edwards said LSU has a bette oline, he likes the LSU playcalling (mixing it up btw run/pass), and likes Mettengergers perfomance as of late.

Equation for a better offense, so says him

And without watching UGA extensively, I think I like it!

Offensively -

Qb - UGa with a definite edge, though its not huge

RB - UGa with a razor thin edge

WR - LSU with the edge

TE - UGa

OL - toss up, but at most a razor thin edge to LSU.

Overall - it's almost dead even. Everywhere One team has a slight advantage, the other team has another area that counters it. I've got two factors though that I think help UGA 1- Murray is four year starter in same offense vs Met's 1-plus year starting and new OC. 2- HOme field and the effects of crowd noise/travel.

Now with that said, the two offenses don't play each other! LSU's defense is better than UGa's. we've got more experience than they do and better coaching on that side of the ball. I think our D has been pretty vanilla thru the first four games, and we'll have a solid plan. My biggest concern is how the corners will play in coverage.

I expect a tight ball game with a few lead changes and a 4-6 point difference midway thru the 4th quarter when one of the two teams will mount a game winning drive. Hope it's us taking an 11-13 point lead, UGa scores a Late TD to make it close, but we get the onside and take a knee

Both teams will score over 30, I'm sure. I think it comes down to turnovers,

He has faced stiffer competition, but his Quarter Back Rating is actually lower than Mett's.

Zach Mettenberger, LSU- 88.3
Aaron Murray, UGA- 84.3

Our defense is better and our offense is comparable: LSU-38, UGA-28

I might be underestimating the Tigers for fear of being a homer.

If you throw in JC to the mix as our sixth OL...that does make our advantage bigger.

I also say that our OL vs their DL and our DL vs their OL to both be in LSUs favor.
