Posey has very little experience coaching, although he was helping out the Cavaliers during Summer League in Las Vegas. But it won’t be about Xs and Os if he ends up getting a gig under Stevens. It’ll be about being a respected voice on the coaching staff, and helping to get his young head coach’s message through to the players on the roster.

Honestly, one of the few times I've missed on player evaluation. I thought Posey was exactly what we needed.

Pretty sure the average NBA player acquires that skill in middle school

Everyone thought he was what we needed. We had a good starting five, but needed some energy off the bench and some championship experience. Instead we got a contract that was an anchor for the team.

I hope Dell can borrow his notes come trade deadline time.

I never liked the Posey signing - I hate paying the premium for guys fresh off a championship. Same with Trevor Ariza. Both were key role players on great teams, so the free agent market overvalues them once the playoffs are over.

But I continually read on here how horrible The Walrus was for signing Posey. ( I know that not the only thing Bower did.). It seemed to me that most geniuses on here knew Posey was gonna be a bust.

He got my notes when I was calling for Dell to trade the draft pick.

Hindsight is 20/20. I thought the Posey signing was expensive, but it was going to work out. Not many noticed how bad the frontcourt was.

07-08 team was woefully thin in the frontcourt. Chandler played his career high in minutes that season and hasnt come close since. West played 36, 38, 39, 36 MPG from 06-10.

Hilton Armstrong and Melvin Ely were the first two bigs off the bench. The next season it was Armstrong and Sean Marks

I remember Marc Stein was down on the Hornets before the season for that reason. I just assumed it was because he was too busy polishing Dirk's nuts in Dallas. I was wrong.

Well, I was the board that shall not be named at the time. The main complaint in addition to the $ was the extra year he was given on the contract. That was nuts.

I hated the extra year but liked the signing.

I'm really, really surprised SFP isn't here. He hated the signing, and let everyone know, on multiple boards, in great detail, for several years.
