BATON ROUGE – It was Fat Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2009, the last time LSU last took the court of the Pete Maravich Assembly Center for a Super Tuesday contest with Florida broadcast on ESPN’s primary channel.

Monday, the league announced its schedule of Super Tuesday ESPN games for the 2014 Southeastern Conference schedule and two of LSU’s three Tuesday games in January will be televised on ESPN as the main Super Tuesday game in the network’s SEC-Big 10 doubleheader.

LSU will host Tennessee in the league opener on Tuesday, Jan. 7, at 6 p.m. CST, while the Tigers will host Kentucky at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 28. Both games will be televised on ESPN.

It is expected that LSU’s Tuesday game at home against Missouri on Jan. 21 will move to the secondary league package on ESPNU since that game was not announced as part of the Super Tuesday package by the network and the league.

LSU has appeared on the ESPNU package a few times over the last couple of seasons, but will make its first Tuesday ESPN appearances since LSU defeated the Gators with a raucous Mardi Gras on hand en route to the 2009 Southeastern Conference championship.

All games will be available through WatchESPN, accessible online at WatchESPN.com, on smartphones and tablets via the WatchESPN app, through ESPN on Xbox LIVE to Gold members and on Apple TV to fans who receive their video subscription from an affiliated provider.

Last year the Super Tuesday series was the highest-rated college basketball weeknight series on ESPN.

Except for it being at 6:00 p.m. (would rather it be the later game), the opener against UT should be a good one. What a great few days for LSU fans. The football team wins the NC Monday, and the basketball team starts it's march to the SEC crown the next night!!!!

I'm shocked that once again we get all our January basketball home games mid week and not on Saturdays right in the middle of the late football recruiting push.
