I played the beta last weekend. Was decently polished for a beta and definitely had that ES feel, but probably still too much MMO for my taste.

Really excited for a new MMO. All the previous new MMOs over the past 2yrs couldn't keep my attention.

Damn, maybe I did it wrong. I lied and put that I played quite a few MMOs because I thought they'd be looking for "Experienced" MMO players to test it. Must be targeting a broader audience. Skyrim brought in a lot of players who normally don't play RGPs, including myself. (Which I think is what makes hardcore RPG fans dislike Skyrim)

skyrim struck a good balance which appealed to a large audience. I imagine they are going for the same thing with the MMO. There's a stigma associated with MMOs and from what I saw in the beta they were trying to avoid it. I didn't play for very long, but there weren't a lot of quests like "go collect x number of y". The stories based around quests were relatively interesting. Felt like they were trying to build a multiplayer skyrim.
