Was re-watching last year's Ole Miss game last night and as frustrating as the defense was at times, there were some very good signs. Travis Dickson was solid with 5 receptions and I would like to see our TE's take more of a role than in the last few years. Reminded me of Richard Dickson in the 2007 campaign. Clement had some moments but I would like to see us return to a more prominent use of our TE's. Who else we got that could make a difference this year?

You should look forward to DeSean Smith being on campus. Dude is the first receiving threat we've had at tightend in awhile.

This has been a glaring weakness on offense the past few years. LSU tends to use blocking tightness that aren't a threat in the receiving game.

Deangelo Peterson was supposed to be the answer, but he never lived up to the hype..,

Dickson is back, then Gordon is your big run blocker that looked decent catching passes during the spring. Then you have smith who is supposed to be one of the best pass catching tight ends we've ever had. If he can block well and not be in for just passing situations (remember when trindon would get the ball every time he came in the game) I think he could be really dangerous. Don't know enough about stokes just that he's more balanced. It's ashame we lost nic Jacobs I thought he had some serious potential, was the guy that could block and catch well

I'm in full agreement. Using the TE as an offensive weapon and RB screens are what I'm hoping to see more of under Cam.

Cam always has used a TE. Had Gates in San Diego. Used Pitta and Dixon in Baltimore.

IMO, Gordon is the most complete and should see the field the most. Good blocker and has improved alot at his pass catching. Stokes is a blocking specialists. While DeSean Smith is the WR threat. I think we use Smith just like New Orleans uses Graham. Hes a "TE" but is basically a big WR and is a mismatch nightmare for DBs with his size and LBs with his speed. He was 1 of the best pass catchers in the nation last year, regardless of position. At the Army AA game they said he had the best hands out there. I think we see Smith really turn it up towards the back end of the season. He will be great here and in the NFL. Hes that new breed of TE.

Dillon Gordon certainly has the physical attributes to be our star TE, so hopefully he can show-off his hands many are still uncertain about. Desean Smith, however, will be a stud and hopefully will get PT this season.

I just don't get the vibe that Dickson is the answer full time at TE this year.

Yea same here JBeam. I love the Dickson family and appreciate everything they have done at LSU, but i just feel like we have way better options at TE. I wouldnt mind using 2 TEs and having Dickson as 1 of them out there. He would be a great weapon at FB out of the backfield too. Just think we have more talent at TE than Dickson.

If anybody can get production out of our TEs, itll be Cam

Hoping Desean can beat the learning curve quick enough to contribute this season but i wouldnt depend on it

We don't need TE's, we can finish 11th in the SEC in passing without their help

I'm in total agreement. Been a weakness, or rather, a non-strength for quite a long time. I hope we can make it happen

All four tight ends will get some time in my opinion. Collectively, they offer a nice array of different skills

For a big WR/TE he wasn't very tough, also he had alligator arms.
