Do you use a service to find potential buys? (I am looking for long term growth, not quick turn arounds) Do you go out and seek companies that you may know nothing about, but may be a good buy? Currently, I just look at companies in which I know (at least somewhat) the ins and outs of the type of business.

Stick to that. Listening to "services" is a great way to look smart and go broke.

On this topic, how important is that the 50 day MA is above the 200?

I have never used a service in the 15+ years I have been investing. Bought only stocks I knew something about, WMT, HD, MRK, DIS, RF . . .

BUT, I have seen on Fox Business several times a stockpicker named Hilary Kramer who seems to be legit. Annual fees for her service are $200 per year. I did some research on her this past weekend.

Anybody with info on the lady with 2 famous names?

This will be common right now especially where the market is. Most stocks will be trading toward the top of their 52 week range, with some exceptions.
