I've always preferred calling the place directly. We haven't camped in several years though so I'm not sure if you even still can.
Do you have to book via internet?

Florida State Parks use Reserve America as well. the only problem was locals who knew the Rangers and others who were "tipping" the Rangers were getting choice sites and choice dates over the R.A. users. When you showed up with your R.A. booking receipt the Rangers would say there were computer errors or reservations were never forwarded or some other B.S. Some Rangers were fired and brought up on charges for kickbacks for "reservations" as well. They are now looking into scrapping the R.A. and going to another system.

We tried to get a certain pad at S. Toledo for next Memorial Day weekend. Started the first day you could book, and it was already reserved.

Yep. was trying to book a Labor Day weekend here at a park and ran into the same thing. Got in touch with a friend who "knows a guy" and viola I got a 3 night res where I want it. As advanced as technology gets it still comes down to who you know on some deals.
