i haven't read the book so i can't compare it to that. which may be part of the reason i enjoyed it. but i went in not expecting much from it after reading about it on this board. however i read not long ago that it was actually better than it was supposed to be, so i had hope.

saw it last night and it was actually pretty good. really my only two complaints were the 'zombies', hard to take seriously with them cracking me up with their teeth clattering, and the ending was lame. once pitt injected himself it was over. the rest just seemed to be build up for a potential sequel.

It was a good summer action movie but not that memorable. Man of Steel and Star Trek have been by far my favorites this year.

I was actually talking to someone last night about the summer movies this year and my top has been Star Trek far and away with Man of Steel being second.

Even as a book reader I was cool with most of the changes until the ending, which I agree was kinda lame. That's not to say I didn't enjoy the movie, only that I was a little disappointed.

Didn't even know that there was a book. Went in cold and enjoyed the movie. Not great, but decent.

That movie was not based on the book, it just stole the name. Good action flick IMO!

I enjoyed the movie. I think the zombie cult following is very critical of every zombie movie. I like the fact that the zombies were fast. A slow moving zombie is not scary anymore. Unless in a large group they have very little of a threat on characters. The ending did not bother me. Sure it put a twist on the zombie genre but the bash them in the head everyone dies gets too predictable. Not saying it was a great movie but very interesting and fun to watch. There was some continuity issues for me. The truck that hits the cop was a reach. Gridlock traffic and it plows through without any noise until it is next to their car?

Yeah, this movie doesn't fall under the typical book reader dislike of not following the book.

You can't. There isn't a narrative in the book to follow. It's literally just an outline of the world during the outbreak.

The rewritten third act is what kills a lot of book readers.

Liked it a lot. More than I thought I would. Enjoyed the recurring Muse themes.

Like it alot, especially the end, a twist not often taken in these types of movies
