Was discussing with a friend how good a daiquiri shop would do in an area. What would it take to open a drive through daiquiri shop?

There are plenty of coonasses in this area, some with lots of money, all that like to drink. Just looking to fill a need.

A dependable manager and staff that won't dish out freebies to their friends. Selling a large for price of a small is very easy to do without things looking suspicious.

This X 100000. I have good friends who own one, and they wish they could dump it. It makes $, but it takes wayyyy too much of their personal time.

ETA: It's not nearly as "cool" as you may think it is.

It wasn't the "cool" factor we were talking about, it was strictly "a daq shop here would do good".

Anyway, for today's million dollar idea, someone should open a daq shop in Cocodrie.

To much of a seasonal thing for down there.

I haven't been down to Cocodrie in years... last time I was there, it was a few camps, a little motel and a marina.

Still the same?

A good relationship with you liquor reps and be religious about knowing your cost down to every ounce of liquid.

Recipes are somewhat expensive. Folks guard them relatively fiercely.

Otherwise, bar ownership is like any other business. You're going to have to run it unless you can afford to pay to have it managed.

The difference is the hours of operation required to make a go of that business are pretty shiteous.

I worked at the one in Monroe while I was in college. You dont do shite during the week, but pretty good on weekends. We did between 200-300 during weekdays, but usually between 1200-1800 on friday and saturdays. Lot of cash involved so taxes are negated somewhat if you're smart.

The icee type machines arent cheap, but for the popular drinks like strawberry, rita, and others, they're worth it.

I bet you're looking at 20-30k for start up, not counting rent and payroll.
