the pit is good, but supposively big ed opened his own place. i have no idea the name of it is though. my favorite spot is in durham on a small country road, great great bbq.

I went to Taco Bell in Durham one time. Not too expensive and they also had Mountain Dew.

Recommendations for tri-city area? My list so far:
Chapel Hill
Four Sqaure is another good restaurant, and I think it's technically in Chapel Hill.
Franklin St, chape Hill main drag for restaurants, bars, and shops.
He's Not Here is more of a cheap college bar with karaoke and drink specials.
UNC Campus
Top of the Hill is a good place for relatively upscale food and drinks

Teasers in Durham or The Dollhouse in Raleigh (never been to the second one, but I've heard they have great feature dancers).
Duke Campus/Cameron Indoor (apparently, they keep the doors open and you can just walk in there and look around)
And if you are into high-end restaurants, Durham has several great ones that have national recognition including Magnolia Grill, Nana's, and Parizade.

Apparently I went into detail in the other thread about Durham -- all of that is still relevant 
Chapel Hill, I can make a few recommendations. I love Mama Dip's when I'm craving soul food. Elaine's on Franklin is a nice place, probably would need reservations. I've heard great things from friends about Lantern, but I haven't been myself. Vimala's is really good Indian food if you like Indian food. There's a Tyler's Taproom in Carrboro -- great beer selection and excellent bar food.
My girlfriend loves Top of the Hill. She enjoys the food and that they brew their own beer. I'm not as impressed as she is, but I suppose it's worth mentioning. For my money, I prefer Carolina Brewery in terms of local places that brew their own beer. Los Potrillos is her favorite Mexican restaurant -- it's pretty good and the margaritas are pretty good too, so if you decide that's what you're craving it's worth exploring.
Spotted Dog is a great spot in Carrboro. I've also heard good things about Milltown but I can't speak from personal experience.
As for bars, Franklin Street is your best bet if you're just looking for the college/party atmosphere. Graduation was Saturday, though, so I don't know how active things will be.

You're more than welcome. The Triangle is a fantastic area and I'm pretty sad to be leaving it at the end of the month.
One Raleigh place that I can toss out there as a suggestion is Bida Manda. It's Laotian cuisine, which is, as you'd expect, Southeast Asian style cuisine. We went there one evening when we were feeling adventurous and had an enjoyable meal, but it's not for everyone I'd expect. It's in a nice little area of Raleigh with a number of restaurants and bars that are probably worth checking out. There's another restaurant in the area, Batistella's, that does New Orleans cuisine; it's the closest to "home cooking" that I've had in the Triangle without actually having to cook. If you find yourself in that area of town I'd be willing to bet that any of the restaurants and bars would probably be a safe bet for a good meal.

Atleast do Cookout, Smithfield's, or Bojangles if you're gonna get fast-food
