Wondering if anybody has or is ready to drop him at this point?

Typically I'm patient but I have machado plus arenado and also m carpenter @ 3b....his hype has not represented itself much in actual production but I'm still a bit hesitant to drop a guy that I stupidly drafted in like the 7th round, especially this early.
I've tried to trade him even just throwing him in to deals to no avail.
This is a standard 12 team mixed format league btw
Any opinions on whether this guy will turn it around? he's really not done much in his career to suggest he will, plus the blue jay vibe is just downright poor

I find it hard to believe you couldn't find any takers in a 12 team mixed... don't think you're trying hard enough. Yea he's overrated and still living off his PCL hype, but he's young, talented, and hits lead off now. Even if he remains bad(and he won't), he'll still put up counting stats.

Why would anyone trade gor him. I am sure there are better options on waiver wire than trading. Josh Donaldson, Frazier...etc. Lawrie has never lived up to hype.

I think more people would trade for him for what he did in 50 games during the 2011 season than what he did in the PCL.

And as a seller, you can always point to that upside. That he has done it at a high level at the highest level level.

Someone would take him especially if the price is right.

Combination of both. Because of the PCL numbers, people will believe that that type of production is actually sustainable... even though it was only 50 games. If he didn't have that track record in the minors, people would think that it was kind of fluky.

I don't really have an opinion on Lawrie either way

The guy said he took him in the 7th round. I wouldn't let 89 ABs decide his fate for me

I know im just messing with you.

You have to stash a guy like that if you have deep rosters, you aren't going to get anything for him.

Yeah that's all that is holding him on the roster for now. The SSS theory won't live forever though.

Didn't hit leadoff today FWIW but did have an RBI hit. This 12 team league has some free agent options, better ones than some of the players I may have to stoop to in order to trade Lawrie, so trading is off the board until this guy can put together a good couple of weeks.
I think I will stick with my usual 2 month leash and reevaluate...........

I'm not giving up on Lawrie.

That raw 30/30 potential is still there.

He's only 23. Not everyone is Bryce/Trout.

Sure but this isn't a keeper league. I need him to be at least serviceable in his year 23..... So far the results are awful
