Homebrewing: Better Bottle Carboys

Does anyone use plastic Better Bottle Carboys?
I have 3 glass carboys. I want to expand my brewing in the future, to 10 gallons, rather than 5. With that, i'll need more fermenters, and rather than buying a 10 gallon fermenter that i can't pick up, or store in my fermentation freezer, i'd like to go with carboys. However, i'd like to use something a little more cost effective.
Any drawbacks with the plastic better bottles?

That and Buckets is all I use. Hell I've been using the buckets more often than the carboys here recently.
Glass scares the shite out of me.
No drawbacks on the plastic bottles. People will tell you to be careful not to scratch them but I haven't had to stick a brush inside a carboy in a long time. PBW soak does the trick for me.
ETA: Get the 6 gallon ones.

I'm afraid of buckets because of infection. Therefore, the only use for my bucket is for bottling.
I like glass because it's heavy, and i feel like it's meant for that. However, the drawback, is if i ever drop that thing. I'd be in the emergency room getting glass shrapnel removed from my foot. I'm always afraid my brewhauler strap, or handle will fail.

I just switched to the PET carboys after using my dads once. Literally I used his once and immediately went out and bought some the next day. Felt 100x safer than the glass ones. And they are like 23 dollars which who cares if you scratch them up, go buy another one. I used mine for the first time last week. Got tired of trying to cool down 10 gals with no ice, so I put the wort into the carboys at 120 degrees. No issues at all. I still am going to keep my glass ones just in case I need them, but dont plan on using them too often.

I use the knockoff better bottles from Austin. They were on sale for $15 recently.

That's crazy.
Where did you get your better bottles? It seems like all of the LHBS only cary Glass and Buckets.

Brewstock sells them on the cheap. They aren't better bottles but they are some name brand from Canada.

Cuban had some recently and I grabbed another. They were the 5 gallon ones. They may still have some left.

Cool. I'm sure they're fine. The first one I got from Morebeer was a lot like that.

I really like 6 gallon bottles as I like to brew about a 5.25 gallon batch. I guess that's why I've been using buckets so much recently. Plus I've been putting a lot of fruit into my beers so... pop open the top and dry hop or add fruit.

Heat.
I have buckets, better bottles, and glass carboys. The glass is nice from a cleaning standpoint as you can heat sanitize it. Though Brew Haulers are absolutely necessary.
Better Bottles are great, though. Lightweight. Wide openings. Cheap.

I have BB plastic carboys and they work fine. But I use my 6 gallon and 5 glass carboys as much as possible to avoid any possible leaching of volatile chemical compounds from the plastic. Just my personal choice. Not trying to start a debate about it.
