They will never consistently sell out every game like with the Saints.

Let the saints have a losing season this year. You'll see how fickle the "who dat nation is".

It took the Saints a long time to get the fan base it has today. I remember some years of half empty stadiums, and that is for only eight games a year.

Check out this gem of an article from 1997 discussing how bringing in Ditka was going to help ticket sales.

"Home attendance slipped to 302,000, down from more than 540,000 in the early '90s. Attendance in the 72,000-seat Superdome averaged 37,750 a game."

Yeah, it seems some people are forgetting some of the post Mora years when the Saints sucked and attendance slipped.

Seems like little alter nerve got touched.

Also, you don't know what probably means.

I think Saints fans are more dedicated and forgiving than most, but they will not pack the Dome (or show up 100% if sold out) when they are losing.

This happened last season.

I went to every single game. Each was packed full at the start. People might have left before the end, but the Dome was at capacity for kickoff each time.

It is human nature to prefer a winner. It is more fun to see and seems like a better "investment" of time and money.

Saints are pretty good and have been a big seller for years now. I think if the Pels become consistently good and/or win a championship their support will be fine (as other have noted just b/c of the size of the Arena they literally cannot be near the top of the league in attendance).

The really sad places are where there are winners and the people still don't come. I don't think NOLA would have that problem. It is a two franchise town where people like to have a good time.
