Noel may be skinny, but he has shown he can put on weight. He was 216 in April 2012 and was up to 228 at the start of UK's season. He's already bigger than AD. Not sure what he is now but I wouldn't be surprised if he's flirting with 235. Im curious to see what he will weight.
Is he the best offensive option? No. Could he clean up on the offensive glass and on lobs? Sure. Assume we have good offensive players at the 1-4; do we really need a scoring 5? shite, look at all the defensive oriented centers in the playoffs. There are like 8 of them. Asik, Noah, McGee, Jordan, Perkins, Bogut, Sanders, Chandler.

I have to think Sacramento won't keep Cousins in free agency after everything that has went down.
The Kings could take a known #1 pick and a relatively cheap solid center then could continue a rebuild with their own 1st round pick.
If I were the Hornets I would use the #1 pick as core to a trade for Cousins. If the Hornets ended up still having a big three of Davis, Cousins, and Gordon it would be a damn good start.

Benson and Co. want dramatic improvement this next season. And while I realize the new CBA has changed things a bit, I don't think Benson will shy away for a little bit of luxury tax.

The Kings are getting new owners and I'd imagine they'd be looking to clean house. I could see the new owners wanting to move Cousins for Noel, but no way would they hamstring a new GM by trading away an unprotected 2014 pick.

There's the max deal you can get for being a young vet (Gordon, 25% of cap (a little different for him and Love, actually)) that can be raised to one you can get as an older vet (Paul, 30% of max).
More money, same years.
There is also this designated player, which is what Westbrook signed without having the 30% accelerator. This allows for 5 years beyond the rookie contract years instead of just 4. This is the path the Pelicans should take with Davis.
One reason is that a team can only designate a single player at a time and can only one other designated player that they received in trade. Coon's site does not read that a team can have a total of 2 they received in trade if they do not designate one themselves. This designation, then, decreases the number of teams he can be traded to while he has time left on his deal. I think that is a good thing. A team that is gunning for him will prepare, but every edge in keeping him counts.

Isnt the Rose rule (more money for ASG starts, etc) different from the regular 5 year max?
If not, why was Griffin able to get 5/95 and Westbrook 5/80?
