Mississippi is pretty damn easy to get a concealed carry permit, I would check to see which state has reciprocity with the most other states, I think mississippi has like 26 other states that your permit will be valid in

When I went for mine it took 2.5 hours, I also got to the hwp 30 minutes before it opened. So, it is or at least it was an all day affair.

show up AT LEAST 30 min before hwy patrol place opens to get printed. took me roughly 2.5-3hrs for whole process. i came into work late that day. plan for half a day at least

AR does the same thing. If you train w/ a revolver, you're certified only to cc a revolver; if you train w/ a semi-auto, you're certified to carry semi-auto as well as revolver.

So CC permit folks are arguing oabout if it is OK to cc in a place that has a no firearm sign.


Yall did take the CC class right? Wouldn't that be something they would teach right off the top?

And more lies. E-mail Gordon Hutchinson. He will tell you. I just went through his class and he explained all this. I specifically asked him about the first quote because someone told me the same thing. This is the email

Restaurants usually have a Class A-Restaurant (as opposed to Class A-General) permit.

Gordon is correct about carry in restaurants that serve alcohol. The newspapers are trying to dramatize HB48, without reading it.

HB48 seeks to amend RS14:95.5

Concealed carry is regulated under RS40:1379.3, which states, among other things, that you can't carry in "Any portion of the permitted area of an establishment that has been granted a Class A-General retail permit, as defined in Part II of Chapter 1 or Part II of Chapter 2 of Title 26 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950, to sell alcoholic beverages for consumption on the premises."

As I said in an earlier post, and as I tell every class that I teach, it's legal to carry in restaurants that serve alcohol, but not in the "lounge" portion of those restaurants. It's also illegal to carry in "honky tonks."

The law is pretty clear on this.

But, since you just read my opinion on an interwebz forum, you should probably ignore it.
