Had higher hopes for this, about 2 hours in and I feel like I'm playing Far Cry 3 with Lara Croft.

Pretty boring so far.

I'm about an hour into it, and so far it's all been a scripted corridor quick timing game.

Does it ever open up for exploration and gameplay similar to TR:Underworld?

Uninstalled, scripted corridor QT games are boring to me.

I think I'm about 75% of the way through.

it picks up with more exploration and gun play once you get more into it. It for sure starts off slow but gets much more action oriented later on.

Biggest issue I have with it is this is the easiest TR I have ever played.

The platforming (which feels like there is less of) just isn't as hard as the others. This is partly b/c of the focus ability that helps you see secrets and areas you can climb to. I guess I could simply not use it... Regardless, I just haven't really run into anything where I'm completely stumped and die a ton of times from tough platforming.

Its kind of feels more like an Uncharted game with Laura Croft jammed into it than a full on Tomb Raider to be honest.

I like how dark the story is though. While there is supernatural stuff going on I feel like its a bit more grounded than the things going on in other TR games. It is also WAY more violent than the past TRs. People be getting jacked up in this.

Overall I like it though I wish the platforming was tougher. I have yet to try the multiplayer.

That's why I stopped playing, too much like Uncharted and not enough Tomb raider.

yea I understand that. I am definitely disappointed with how much they cut back on the platforming.

Its much more of a cinematic action game now. There is old school TR stuff to be found, its just not anywhere near as challenging as the older games.

The gunplay is at least a massive step up for the series. I find myself wishing it employed a better cover system though.

I mean, it was okay, I thought it picked up halfway and ended up being a decent game.

But for the reviews and ratings I saw it get, definitely way overrated.

I said it earlier, I'm huge Uncharted fan, and this game just felt like a much shittier version all the way around of Uncharted, like if Activision made Uncharted 4 and not Naughty Dog, then you'd have the next Tomb Raider.

I'd give it a 7/10.

Just picked this up today since it went on sale. I have been I impressed so far although I haven't played any TR games before. I do like the game play and puzzles.
