Shocking news on the off day. Brett Wallace demoted to AAA, Brandon Laird called up. Xavier Cedeno DFA
d to make room for Laird on the 40 man. Laird hit .353 with 2 homers and 14RBI for the Redhawks. Wallace hit...nothing. Look I feel bad for Wally, its got to be a terrible feeling to start the season like that. But the offense has a whole had struggled so there wasn't the ability to let him play through his struggles. He's fallen out of favor. If he's going to get out of his slump, he needs playing time and thats not gonna happen on the ML club.

Brett Wallace has gotten many, MANY opportunities with the Stros to prove himself. It was only a matter of time.
He'll end up getting called back up eventually when someone goes on the DL or something. But he has to find some sort of groove in the minors because he is in a horrible funk right now.

I think were witnessing the beginning of the end for Wallys Astros tenure. He's looking like a quad A player. He's good at AAA but never puts up in the majors. He did look solid in a small sample size last year. But with Singleton bearing down, Wallace needs to get hot in the minors and bring it back with him if he gets another Chance

It's a shame, really. His swing looked so much better in Spring Training. Yet, he resorted back to having his hands lower and his stance not as wide once ST was over. He needs to get back to what he was doing in the Spring with his hands.
