I can only think of 3 without googling:

The Great Train Robbery (1915?)
Birth of a Nation (1909?)
All Quiet On The Western Front (1930)

And use the MWADS results as a guide. IMO.

But you're going to do all of that and find out your final two are:

The Godfather
Shawshank

With an obvious winner there.

It isn't a bad idea. And it sounds like it could be fun. I would enjoy watching all the snobs p-shaw when ID4 tops one of theirfavs, and get pissed when Wizard of Oz gets topped by The Dark Knight.

So it would be a fun ride. However, I'd be surprised if the final two weren't

The Godfather
Shawshank

without some kind of early round collusion.

Not a bad one, but the hypnotic spell of the Godfather is damn strong.

If I revealed the numbers after the first count on the MWADS it might make people, some people at least, sick. It's why I'm doing a second count. You think something would be interesting, then it just isn't.

interest for an "Unofficial Greatest Movie of All-Time" bracket

I vote against it because ya'll/we do way too many of these types of things now. There have been what, like 4 WADS threads in the last year+? It's watering down IMO.

Of course, that's just my opinion though, and it won't bother me if ya'll decide to do one.

Also, hasn't this already been done on here before, or am I making that up..?

I tried to do an action hero bracket years ago and got about three votes and 15 or so "x" would kick that guys arse.

Pretty sure that isn't wha tyou are talking about.

I agree though, the MWADs seem to be losing steam. There were what, maybe 30 submissions for the top 200?

I think we can come up with some creative ideas thoug for more interactive threads. We do seem to be in a rut kind of. Everything is either GoT or "I just saw this movie".

For the first time since probably 2008, I find myself spending more time on other boards than this one. Still my fav. Lately it just seems like there aren't as many threads I feel like posting in.
