We were picked to finish dead last.

Exceeded what expectations? We only made the quarterfinals of the SECT and didn't even make the NIT.

At least we made the NIT in 2011-12.

If we make the Championship of the SECT next year, I will personally give you $100.

Or maybe 11th

SEC 12-13 Preseason Media Poll

No one is saying that these guys didn't exceed expectations, but to say that they GREATLY exceeded expectations is a bit of an overexaggeration. Most reasonable fans on here expected LSU to win somewhere between 7-10 games in SEC reg season play, which was ultimately the case.

We were better this year than last year, just because the NIT overlooked us doesnt mean we weren't. Our RPI was about 20 spots higher this year.

It's tough to say the 2012 team would have beat the 2013 team because there's no way to know that.

The 2012 team would have hosted an NIT game if not for a previous PMAC engagement. The result of the 2012 season was better.

LSU also lost a ton of key guys. People didn't expect LSU to be as good this year as last and they had similar seasons.

South, in your opinion, why has LSU struggled historically in the SECT? We only have one title in over 70+ tries.

Im not really sure. My biggest bet would be depth. With the games played so close together it takes a team with good depth and I feel like we normally haven't played with a ton of depth.

I think we will get to the quarterfinals of the SEC Tournament and earn an NIT berth. Get used to this kind of season because that's all your going to get with the current regime.

If you're looking CJJ to be the savior of LSU Basketball, you will be disappointed. He had a decent season before finishing poorly. He's no Billy Donovan.

Chaka Smart, anyone?

You sound pretty informed

Justin Hamilton
Storm Warren
Malcolm White
Ralston Turner
John Isaac

How quickly people forget...

That equals:

102.3 minutes per game lost
36.3 points per game lost
18.6 rebounds per game lost
2 starters lost

People felt pretty confident when the team started 0-4, losing to two very bad teams.
