Oklahoma St. was really the only game the Frogs did not have a chance of winning. Tech also had one of the top offenses in the country and it took 3 OTs to score those 56 points. Three turnovers hurt the Frogs.
I think LSU wins this game. I know cherry picking that score has to help make you feel a lot better about it.

Last year they got blitzed by Oklahoma State, and lost to Iowa State at home by two touchdowns.
TCU is a quality mid-major, and seems likely to grow into a quality Big XII team. But they just aren't all that impressive at this point. Like Boise and others, they've racked up a lot of hype and name recognition with gaudy records they posted by facing lesser competition then coming up with one or two big games. I'm sure we'll be getting the full brunt of Patterson's big game prep, but I don't see their talent level or program measuring up across the board.

Well I think they had a more than decent showing their first year in the Big 12 and their defense was very young, maybe the youngest in a long time for Patterson. So I think it will be a good game. Their overall depth and talent may not be up to where we are but they do really good job of developing their talent.
Tigers bring it home in a close game and we are prepared for the season from the first game out of the box this season.

Remember when we smoked Va Tech 45-3? Thats what this is gonna be like. When any recent LSU team comes ready to play, they can put a serious whoopin on anyone. On top of that TCU is not really that strong of a team compared to the big boys in the SEC. This one is gonna be a straight demolition.

I agree about the linebackers but I don't see how you can say this about the D-line. None of the projected starters have experience as full-time players.
DT - Johnson started 3 games last year and Ferguson hasn't started a game yet in his career.
Obviously Freak is a mega-talent. I think the only question with him is consistency, which is extremely important in stopping the run.
Ferguson seems to have good power and overall athleticism for his size, but is he a playmaker? No sacks in 2 years. 1.5 TFL.
Then, where will the depth come from? Thomas? Johnson? A true freshman? I don't know that I feel comfortable about any of those options.
DE - No DE on the roster has started a game. Also, all the DEs on the roster are below 260. I like the potential of Rasco, Hunter & Allen, but they could struggle in the run game going up against some of the bigger tackles.
I do think/hope Jordan Allen could surprise with the technical aspect of his game. I've noticed he is very cognizant of using his hands, and using moves on a blocker as opposed to relying on speed & power. As good as they were, that's one area where Mingo, Montgomery & Edwards never really fully developed imo.

Jordan,Freak, Ego, Rasco- This seems like a below average LSU DLine to me. Hopefully Im dead wrong on this. But the depth here is especially concerning. I did like the one kid from Nebraska in a few drills but its difficult to get excited about a true freshman DL in this league.
