I just saw this on NOLA.com. I'm not sure how long Chef Lynch has been working there but he has the job now. I know he was Chef de Cuisine at Emeril's, and worked at Gautreau's. Hope the fine cooking continues.

Lynch and Rabasa had worked together at Meson 923, the once ambitious, now shuttered Warehouse District restaurant.

Didn't know that place closed down. I went there once and enjoyed it.

I've been to Atchafalaya twice. Once for dinner last summer, once just this past Sunday for brunch. I will say that I enjoyed both meals very much, but would have to give the nod to the brunch I had. Execution was spot on .. everything was delicious .. which is a big thing for me because I'm normally not big on brunch food.

Not that that's a defining verdict between the two chefs.

I have been once for dinner and once for brunch as well. Really enjoyed both visits so I hope the new chef can continue the great food.

I think it just depends on the day. It was three of us driving around trying to figure out what to eat. I knew we could get into La Petite probably but on the way I decided to swing by Atchafalaya and see what the wait was. I pulled up, my gf jumped out the car and asked the maitre de and he said they could have us sat in 10 minutes. I was shocked because the place was packed .. just got lucky I guess. I've heard of folks having to wait an hour sometimes.

I'm just not big on brunch so it's not something I'd ever plan (i.e. - make reservations) unless forced to.
