Sandolph is a monster. No idea if he's actually any good, but the guy is enormous and terrifying.

Tahj seems weak to me

He was penciled in as the starter last year before academic troubles, so weak may not be so accurate, moreover, he's pretty good in coverage.

He's not a killer, he's happy to be a qb at a big time school and i dont think he really cares about improving

as for this, it was reported since the end of the bowl game that Mett has been throwing with the WRs on his own time and has apparently looked sharp thus far, not to mention he has a certifiable, full time QB coach/OC this spring/summer/fall. He'll improve. Is the kid goofy, sure, but that doesn't mean he's not a "killer" as you put it.

Finally, if you can't find a wisp of excitement come any spring of the possibilities for the following season, that's depressing. I'm not saying not to be a realist, but no optimism is really sad.

What I took from the video.

Love the NFL type tempo we have at practice for the offense. If you aren't ready to go, you miss reps and someone jumps in. Just like the NFL.

Kwon Alexander is our best LB. He showed how its done in the tiger attack part. Took the blockers on with 1 shoulder, kept the other one free, shed the block, and got to the dummy. Plus, he looks huge this year. Looks like he gained 20 lbs in great areas for a LB. His thighs are huge and his upper body looks bigger as well. If healthy, I'm thinking 2nd team all SEC. Lorenzo Phillips looks good as well.

Lamar Louis might be the most explosive guy we have on the entire team. His initial contact is amazing.

Barrow is going to have a spectacular season.

I agree about Tahj. Don't know if he will hold onto that #1 spot, especially with the young guys we have behind him who are just as good or better already.

Dural looks really really good. Would love to see him step up and be the 3rd or 4th WR, depending on if Leslie qualifies.

It seems that the #55 walk on LB is having a good spring and coaches like him. Think he will be a big time special teamer for us.

I think it's Jarrett Hardnett.

Dural and Leslie on the outside with Beckham and Landry inside for a 4 WR set would be nice.

Louis is a great athlete but he is just not a good LB, at least yet. I wish they would put 25 lbs on him and move him to fullback.

In Scott Longs video of the linebacker drills, Welter was putting some licks on. He looked strong to me. Tough, intense etc. At 5:51 Welter knocks the shite out of #23, a fellow linebacker. Him and 58 looked like the toughest and most intense linebackers based on that drill IMO.

Of course the racists here frown on any white player being successful, or the idea that a good athlete with excellent fundamentals can be a better player than an excellent athlete with average fundamentals.

Anyone who's played sports or coached knows this IMO.

In a mike linebacker, I'd rather have a hard nosed, intense, football intelligent, and tough player than a combine superstar. 2 of the best mike linebackers to ever play in the NFL were like that: Dick Butkis and Mike Singletary.

The best athlete (fastest 40, bench, vertical) doesn't always equal the best player, and pro sports are full of examples of this. Intangibles are worth something.

So your headshake response to the guy praising Welter is racist negatigerism and should be treated as such.

We true Tiger fans want all of them to succeed and don't get our panties in a wad if the best QB or LB is white or black. Just get the best one on the field.

Also I trust the Chief to decide who's the best, not some racist rantard.

Therefore:

When Welter couldn't get within 10 yards of the dummy in that gauntlet drill i was thinking Mike Singletary.

I'd bet you complain when black folks cry racism over things far more deserving or questionable than this.

You use every cliche about white and black athletes in the book. You also fight stereotypes with more stereotypes.

That's a really good idea, especially with Beckwith coming in to supplement the loss at LB. Louis would start at FB next year unless i'm not thinking of somebody, I know we lost the guy from Florida that was committed for a while last year to be the next FB.
