I think he's closer to 6'2-6'3 and 245, at least that was what I thought when I saw him at a football game last year. But I had been drinking all day.

Plaquemine defensie lineman Davon Godchaux looks the part of a SEC D-lineman and has an Ole Miss offer to show for it. To me, I'm not sure Godchaux has the explosiveness needed to play end at a place like LSU but if he can put on a lot of good weight, I can easily see him playing on the interior. Reportedly, Godchaux was a star at LSU's camp last summer.

there are countless LSU linemen that have gained over 40 pounds to become adequate in their weight.

I have no expertise to say that he will be offered late in the year to see if he can get to the 280's or so by signing day.

This is the assumption of any game-day observation made on TD.com

It could also work against us. If we fill that DE spot then that leaves other top tier talent on the outside looking in, they commit elsewhere, and then we are playing catch up with them if DG doesnt make the grades.

This.

We took 5 DE's in the 2014 class if you count Beckwith at DE. I think we hold a spot for Willis and will be a little cautious at next spots. Justin Thornton out of Mobile Vigor has LSU in the lead and he is #114 on Rivals and has a heavy offer list from most of the bigs. DG is #208 and his offer list right now is considerably lighter. I think LSU might take him as a "under the radar" candidate if he has a good summer camp or fall season...
