Okay, I'm in a league with a salary cap for keepers. I can keep any number but have to stay under the cap.

We have a soft cap set at $125.

If you go over the $125, you are penalized as follows:

$130 - Lose 3rd round pick
$135 - Lose 2nd round pick
$140 - Lose 1st round pick

So here are my top choices:

Miggy - $40
Kemp - $39
Cutch - $35
Felix - $29
Dickey - $28

I have the 5th overall pick. It's a 10 man league. Cats are pretty standard (AVG, HR, RBI, SB, R and K, ERA, W, S, WHIP).

You can safely assume all the big dogs will be gone. Pretty much the top 30 players will likely be kept, or in the very least, not be around for pick 1.5.

I'm thinking I will keep Miggy, Kemp, McCutchen. I'd have to throw back Felix, but with the 5th pick there's a slim chance I could nab him back. Unquestionably I wouldn't get either of those other 3 back (and probably won't get Felix back).

Keeping Miggy, Kemp, McCutchen puts me at $114

I hate not keeping any pitching, but here's my options of what I could do:

Give up a 1st to keep, $26 to spend:

Jay Bruce ($26)
Paul Goldschmidt ($25)

Give up a 2nd to keep, $21 to spend:
Rizzo ($18)
Santana ($18)
Altuve ($20)

Give up a 3rd to keep, $16 to spend:
Chapman ($12)
Swisher ($13)

Give up nothing to keep, $11 to spend:
Profar ($7)

These are really the only guys I have truly worth keeping. Here's a few other names I COULD use, but would like only be a combo to get me to the highest range I could get:

Reddick ($16) - surrender second rounder at least
Prado ($16) - surrender second rounder at least
Minor ($8) - surrender no picks
Lohse ($3) - surrender no picks (could keep him AND Minor and lose no picks)

So that's pretty much any worthy option.

Deadline is tomorrow, but I could also try and dangle someone like Dickey or Bruce and get pick back... or just keep the big three and take one of them at 5 overall?

Miggy
Cutch
Bruce
Rizzo

$119

Or, you could replace Bruce with Goldschmidt since average is a category. Then, gamble on Chapman and surrender a third.

I am not sure I would keep Kemp. Definitely do not keep Dickey, Altuve, or Swisher under most any circumstance.

I honestly would rather give up nothing and keep Profar. My other choices would be either Bruce or Goldschmidt.

I know. It's by far the worst league I'm in.

This was my inclination too.

Seems like a lot of people are bearish on Kemp. I know he wasn't top 10 great last year, but he still gives average, power, steals and hits in the middle of what should be a solid lineup.
