certain ammount taken every year in NELA, because its getting out of hand
I've hunted NELA since the mid 70's and can honestly say I know more people who claim to have seen a black panther than have seen a black bear.

Thats wild because I went last year, and saw 5 different bears in a 3 day weekend. Had 2 standing under my tree; I could hear them snorting and chewing on shite. Pretty surreal, but im not scared of them. I think theyre a beautiful animal, but they can be a pain in the arse. Nowhere near as bad as hogs though.

I don't deny there are bear close by. IMO they're in isolated clusters and one club may have bears out the wazoo where as a club a couple of miles away may have never seen signs of a bear. I know they're common around Tensas NWR but I'm hunting along the stateline in Union and Morehouse Parishes.

how in the world did they figure that he did it?

I've heard alot of the black bears in Louisiana have chips installed in them when they are cubs. A friend has a den on his lease and agents come there whenever the bear would have cubs and put chips in them.

Idiots need to quit fricking shooting bears, quit being fricking cheap lazy asses and put out some decent plots and the feeder/corn problem is solved.

Won't be a shame when they show up to your feeder, turn it over, eat all the corn and you quit seeing deer.
Thats a chance you take when you put out feed. Still doesnt give anyone the right to shoot the bear. There will be a tag system for hunting bear in LA, but until then it is illegal.
