I think the lack of patience is an issue, not that it isn't justified to a fan base that has been asked to deal with just about as much as any over the better part of the past 10 years. The Kings have it bad now, but it hasn't been horrid for as long as it has been here (yet); it may be far worse there soon, depending on how things go in Seattle.
I think Dell was right to match, and I think Gordon will develop value in the NBA as a piece in trade for us because there will be hope, even if there is some diagnosis that keeps him limited throughout. Even Roy got $5m+ in each year of a 2y deal, and Gordon is better than that (at this point).
I personally want him gone, but I agree that Dell needs to manage the asset.
