I live in Texas so I eat at some of the best. I think Taceaux Loceaux is pretty good in comparison. Maybe you just didn't get the right thing?
I've had 3 different tacos there and they were all completely oversalted, one on the point of being inedible.

It's obviously not overrated or mediocre because it was featured on Anthony Bourdain's the layover. He also tweeted about how good they are.
Well frick me running that means they're awesome!!

I like your big words but you didn't "prove" anything. The bars on st. claude are awesome. That area is getting better and better by the day.
My point wasn't about the inherent quality of the bars, it was regarding the simpletons who automatically assume some people wouldn't be welcome or wouldn't fit in based on what they wear.

quote:They're doing the Woke Up in Oaxaca special tonight at Dos Jefes. If you come by I'll buy you an order and you can tell me if they're good or not. It's their best taco IMO. The goat and the pork carnitas are both a close second. The gulf prawn special they had last week was awesome too.

that sounds good in theory .. maybe I just had them on an off night. I'm not averse to giving them another shot. breakfast tacos aren't my thing though so maybe next time I'm at Kingpin and they're posted up outside.

I love when R2R gets worked up on the TL truck.

I agree, I've been to about every bar in that area that was on the list. I love the Bywater/St. Claude area. That's why it's annoying when some douche comes along and says we didn't like the list because we're afraid to venture out of our comfort zones and go to non-preppy bars. So yea, that guy can go frick himself. The list still sucks
