I don't understand your objection unless you use owning the best component as some kind of dick-measuring contest. It might not be the newest but it can still max out games. What's there to bitch about?

I'm with Taylork on this one. Until the development cycle changes and the majority of games are developed for PC, I will stick with my console for most of my gaming (aside from platform exclusives like RTS). When it comes to gaming the experiences on PC and console are fundamentally the same, except PC gamers can dick measure better than console gamers can.

I just find it easier to control things on PC.

Idk if thats really true. I can type on a keyboard the way it was intended to, but when it comes to a pc game, i become freaking retarded to the max.

I can't play a FPS with a controller. I also can't play everything else with a keyboard. I don't know how some people would play Assassins creed with keyboard.

To respond to everyone... my point isnt that your PC is somehow useless after a short period. Its the fact that you spend money to buy the best components as I have in the past, only for it to be relatively outdated in the not so distant future. Your overpriced $999 Titan vid card is not even the best a few months after when they relase the next best card. Maybe I am just dont understand people getting all excited for bragging about a $1000 vid card...

I don't know anyone who buys a top of the line vid card. Most people I know spend $150-250 and upgrade it every 2-4 years. MY 560 TI has been out for a few years, but I can still play every game on the highest settings. Which is far more important than being able to say I own the newest components.

Not to point out the obvious, but we just had a computer dick measuring competition on here not too long ago.

To sum it all up, you can spend a lot more money if you want but you do not have to in order to stay ahead of consoles.

Exactly.

From the argument being made against PC's, his logic would tell me that consoles are better only because the technology changes less frequently, which is a crappy cornerstone to that argument.

I bought my components 8 years ago, and last week I was still playing all of today's games.

This go around, I spent $500 on parts that will run games for me for the next 10 years or more. Not to mention, I can choose to overclock my components to make them even more viable in the long run. Not everyone is buying $1000 video cards, $700 motherboards and processors that rival university super computers.

I can buy any game I want, run any emulator for any game for any system I want, watch my movies, listen to my music, and browse the internet easier on my PC than I could on my PS3. In fact, I could do all of those things AT THE SAME TIME if I chose to, all while getting blown by a hot chick who digs me bc of my massive GPU and large amounts of RAM.

Don't get me wrong, I love my PS3, but if you made me choose which I'd rather have for gaming, it's my PC, no contest.

And I Couldn't agree more with Gardoki about playing FPS on a controller versus a keyboard. Not sure how I did it to begin with back in the day.
