The Saints openly have tried to mimic the Pats in many ways. Where they have fallen short most might be this Belichick axiom: Better to let them go one contract too early than to keep them one contract too long.

When I read this I immediately thought of Bushrod. I just hope the team doesn't feel obligated to overpay this guy out of necessity. When you look at the draft, after the top 3 left ot guys the pickings get pretty slim.

I think it's been you who has mentioned Bryant McKinnie in fa a few times. I'd much rather see that guy for 2-4 mil than Bushrod for 6-8 mil. Not too many other affordable, skilled left ot's in fa either though. Sam Baker or Will Beatty, maybe? Myself, unless Lane Johnson could be had at 15, I'd rather see someone like McKinnie come in at an affordable price and plan on developing a later round pick or else hoping for a better left ot draft class in the next couple of years.

But if Bushrod isn't resigned or a fa brought in that becomes #1 priority in the draft in my view. Can C. Brown, even if he's competent there be relied on all season? Has any other tackle on the Saint's roster other than Bushrod and Strief ever even played a down at left ot in the NFL?

Jordan won't be there at 15. He's flying up boards and the Combine will only raise his stock.

To the people who like Vaccaro

Did some quick research and under Rob Ryan as the D Coordinator

2005
1. Fabian Washington CB
2. Stanford Routt CB

2006
1. Michael Huff

2010
1. Joe Haden

2012
1. Morris Claiborne

So I wouldn't be surprised if the saints move for
15 to the 20s to draft him, and also pick up a 2nd or 3rd rounder. I would love it

If not for his injury chris faulk would have been a high draft pick at OT 3 rd maybe 2nd round. Could be a possible replacement for bushrod assuming he is healthy.

I honestly think that by our defense being that bad Loomis will move back to get a second rounder, imo

Could be. I remember reading he had 1st round potential during last years preseason.

05, 06, & 12 RR had absolutely no say working for Davis and Jones. Both overwhelming in the draft room

Haden was a slam dunk easy choice in 2010 no matter who was the predominant figure in the Browns draft room

Pretty long reach to tie in as reasoning IMO

Vaccaro would hinge more on if Harper was cut and no one else brought in. If restructured then I would count KV unlikely at #15. He would be a great candidate if trading back 5-10 spots tho IMO

I hope you're right, because there should be plenty of value on defense in the second and third rounds this year.

We should draft a QB, then trade Drew for Aldon Smith and Patrick Willis. Then we draft Minter and implement the first 2-5 defensive scheme in the NFL. Of course that's with TM7 as rover.

Or we could just pick a good defensive player like Jordan or Mingo.

They wouldn't make that trade
