Further discussion on Cam Cameron offensive style

It has been described as:
a pro-style running offense that baits defenses with play action for deep strikes.
Serious question, how is this different than what was developed or attempting to be developed through this past season at LSU? Execution of those plays non withstanding?
I understand consistency and timing of which play is called can be as or more important than general offensive style, even to the point of a game hinging on a single 3 play series or a one play clock management decision. However, is there really a large difference in the offensive style?

It's not so much a style change that we want, it's more of a play calling change. We still want to be a power running team but simply want a little more creativity and unpredictability in the play calling.

No, and that's the genius of it. Hopefully more creative play calling like everyone wants.

No difference except for this:

In his last 125 games as an NFL offensive coordinator, the teams Cameron was a part of in San Diego and Baltimore lost a total of only eight games by more than seven points.

We don't want to change our style. Just need better, more consistant play calls. Someone who really knows what they're doing.

All four answers confirm what I was thinking. I am no OC but I agree that the style of offense we have been running is a good model it just needs some fine tuning.

Exactly! Fine tuning! I love the power run game and want to see it maintained. All I want in the passing game is a more unpredictable, less conservative style. Utilize mismatches etc. Cam Cameron does this much better than Stud
