What is a good, free video editing software?

I'm running a project through kickstarter and I need to create a little video to accompany it.

What do most of you use?

if you are just doing something simple, the one that comes with your computer should work.

you can get adobe premiere "for free"

Thanks for the heads up. I'm running Premiere CS6 in the trial phase for 30 days and I already finished by near 3+ minute project. It's very easy to use.
