I say move Holmes to S.

1) Size - he's the biggest of the projects we have at corner.

2) Speed - guy runs on the track team, enough said.

3) Intelligence - majors in engineering, so he's got to be pretty bright. That doesn't necessarily mean football smart, though.

i agree with that, like i said earlier...raymond has already made the move but holmes would be a good move if he can add a little weight

. Thompson will be a stud.

Martin = 1st Rd. pick, IMO.

He's got speed. Ball skills. Hits pretty hard. Dude makes plays.

Wait, we moved Raymond to Safety? Who is going to play CB for us if Mills or Collins goes down?

ETA: I really think CB depth is a bigger concern than Safety especially if Rashard Robinson doesn't make it.

can't we just send Cutrer to John Curtis to get him qualified like Bama did with Lacy?

Yeah like I've said I don't think we have as much to worry about in our secondary and LB's as we do our DL. There's a lot of talent on the DL but most unproven. Then of course there is Mett developing some type of pocket presence

The whole time I was wondering why we were taking only one safety when we know Cutrer had grade issues.

I think the staff has been trying...they just seem to have missed this time.

The coaches were floored at the size and ability Thompson showed when he stepped on campus last year. If he can put it together, I also have no doubt the guy can be an All-SEC kind of player for us. Not saying this will happen overnight, I just agree with one of the other posters that he might have turn out to be a better safety than Martin or Eugene by the time he leaves.

I thought he played great last year on special teams FWIW

All of this is much more important than some anecdotal "Kevin Sumlin was most pissed" evidence. First, there is no evidence it is true. Second, Sumlin's opinion is not some superior source of defensive back talent.

We are fine! Are y'all forgetting about who we have? Underclassmen, Thompson(all American talent), Martin(junior), sandolph(RF), Eugene(soph), Thomas(RF), Raymond(RF). These are players on roster as of today! we are fine at safety! we will get a couple of highly rated ones next class!!!
