The golf course is the best place for guys going through divorce, family problems, etc. Its the job, and their easiest sense of normal. Once you start your warm-up, its what you've done since at least college, play a competitive round.

great article about tiger and his swing changes. long but good read.

"HE HAS SAID that he does not sleep for more than two or three hours a night. A typical workday starts every morning at 6:30 and extends more than 12 hours -- through three workouts, two range sessions, two practices on the putting green, one short-game session and two nine-hole practice rounds -- until it ends for dinner at 7. Day after day after day. So intense is his focus that he routinely experiences self-described blackout moments on the course; he cannot recall actually hitting many of the shots that everyone else remembers him hitting, regaining consciousness only as his back finishes its rotation and as his hands come to rest just above his left ear, the ball rising into the distance. To put his crying newborn daughter to sleep in the middle of the night, he did not simply rock her while watching TV; he has described carrying the infant to the gym in his house, situating himself on the leg press machine with her on his lap and doing 600 repetitions until she had fallen asleep."

This pretty much sums up the Tiger Hater's Moving Standards List
1. He will choke on the weekend-------> X He won? Well...
2. He won't win another Major Oh, he won a major...
3. He won't win multiple majors He won another Major?
4. He won't break Jack's record For the record,

I'm not guaranteeing Tiger will break Jack's record, but with I can say with absolute certainty that you will see this progression from the non-fans.

This is pretty spot on, if/when he wins a major.

I can't wait to see all the Tiger bashers try to justify their opinions when he does win another major. I'm not naive enough to think he will be what he once was, but I do believe that he will win at least a few more majors. When that does happen you will hear a lot of crickets and a lot of but..but...buts form people all over this board and many others.

I'm not going to sit here and act like I know the guy or what runs through his head, but to me it looked like he hasn't even cared about golf the last few years. His over-amplified signs of frustration and anger came off to me as a guy who was trying to act more interested then he really was. That or a guy who was physically incapable of pulling off what was once the norm.

"He doesn't sign for the most part & he's not trying to be friends with volunteers, but that's not who he is". Exactly: he's a prick as a person, and that character flaw goes way beyond not signing or being nice to volunteers. It's as much his attitude towards those "below"him that defines him as a person as much as anything else. Ask any of the long time tour followers & they will use the word "class" to define Jack & Arny & even Phil; the word they'll use to define Woods is "arse". Bobby Knight is who he is, as is Nick Saban: does that mean that it is ok to be an arse just because they are who they are? You want off the course distractions: how bout when Phil's wife was diagnosed with cancer. Did that turn him into a raging arsehole or totally destroy his game? Woods is the best ever & deservedly so. I just hope he 3 putts every other hole forever.
