Hunting/Recreational Land in OK

Thinking about purchasing some land in Oklahoma and was wondering if anyone has any experience doing so? Would like to buy around 80-140 acres. Mainly want a place to get away for the weekend and do a little turkey/deer hunting and just thinking about a place to have when I get older...either as a retirement property or just sell and hopefully make a profit.
I have very little experience with the state of Oklahoma. Then why would I want to buy land there? I live in Dallas and Texas land is much more expensive, especially any with live water on the property, which is what I'm going after. Will more than likely need to get a 10 or 15 yr loan.
Any advice is much appreciated, I'm 27 yrs old have been an avid duck hunter my whole life and would really like to get on a plot of land while there's still some available. Thanks!

Check with your local real estate agents they can more than likely get into a database and find what you are looking for . I'm not sure about Oklahoma but I know in Kansas you always want a body of water somewhere on the property , preferably a creek or small river . I would definitely look up the deer harvests for the counties up there to check harvest numbers and quality so you can narrow your search a bit . Hope that helps good luck

Good plan. I hope to be in a position in the next 2 years to buy some in CenLa or South Miss. I want about 50 acres adjacent to a national forest.
