Right now I pay for both Netflix DVDs and streaming. Thinking of cancelling the streaming and going with Hulu Plus, but don't know much about it. Does it offer series from HBO, Showtime, etc.?

i was going to make some snarky analogy, but that's not befitting your serious question. Hulu Plus isn't worth half of what your pay. From what I've gathered its the same stuff as netflix, with some exceptions of course, but you still have to watch commercials and the vast majority of the titles on hulu plus can only be played through a computer, not the app or a bluray player/playstation/roku/etc.

been trying out hulu plus for a couple weeks and i dont really like it. theres a ton of stuff, but probably 95% of which i have no interest in ever watching. i havent quite figured out the schedule for new stuff, since there hasnt been a ton of new stuff the last couple weeks, but if i cant watch stuff the same day it comes out, then i'm gonna end up watching it online if i miss it on tv. i use netflix a bunch though. better movies, easier to surf and find stuff. only people who i could see using hulu are people who rarely watch tv and dont need cable, or people who like to watch really random channels and shows that would never be on regular tv.

No, similar selection but with a ton of ads.

The only thing you pay for is getting shows quicker than netflix. And a dvr makes that wn irrelevent feature

I didn't even last the entire free trial period before cancelling Hulu Plus, and it looks like Netflix is making a strong push right now. They just signed deals with Warner Bros & Disney, plus releasing original content.

yeah if you have no intention of dumping cable then dvr and on demand pretty much render hulu useless imo.

I love Hulu Plus, but I don't have cable so it lets me catch all of the shows I watch the next day from air date. I watch Once Upon A Time, Law & Order SVU, Chicago Fire, Nashville, Don't Trust the B, Subargatory, etc. I don't think Netflix has current season eps, but if you have cable, not much point to Hulu unless you like watching some older and obscure shows they might have.
