What happens to the scholarships that are vacated by the juniors leaving? Are we able to oversign?

This goes into account for the next group of signees. We have 29 spots available to sign players. If more scholarships become available than players signed, then a deserving walk-on will probably receive it since it's basically a one year contract.

It also helps with any attrition we may have had to go through with players still on the team to stay at the 85

If we have more schollys available I would hope we would save them for the next years LA recruiting class. We are not in the position to be giving away schollys to walkons.

It's usually a senior walk-on if they even give it out. Would not go against future numbers. Happens at every school, just is rarely publicized.

I sincerely apologize in advance for being clueless.
Does this mean we can SIGN and ENROLL more than 25 in 2013 ?

About the only real impact is that if any have graduated by the fall, you can accomodate additional EEs if there are any. An EE needs to fit under the current 85 if he is going to be on scholarship. You can substitute the scholarship if a player graduates and leaves the team.

No, but we will sign and enroll more than 25. It just doesn't have anything to do with the jrs leaving.

Just helps you get to 85.

Lets say we get to 27 or whatever this year. well we didnt have 27 srs leaving so the other spots have to come from somewhere. This is also when guys like duke riley or cethan carter can get a scholly. Or any other grey shirt offer.

Attrition has to happen somewhere.

Commitments are not "signees". They probably have a few EE's in that group and probably anticipate a few who won't qualify. At the end of the day, they can only sign 25 kids that count towards the 2013 signing class, just like everyone else.

A&M has nine spots from last year's signing class they can back-fill.
