How does that ban work exactly? If he wants to run in the Boston marathon and they'll have him, he can't do it? Not seeing it.

Didn't that one chick that cheated to win the NYC marathon in the 80s ride part of the course on a bike?

Outside of a few stages if the TDF, I guarantee 99.9999% of the american population has never been "entertained" by a cycling race or triathlon.

Because he's been banned from even competing in marathons, triathlons and local 5K's and 10K's just for recreational purposes.

That's not totally true. He is just banned from USAT and USATF sanctioned races.

Few people even know what theyre Livestrong money went to. Most people have had the wool pulled over their eyes for years thinking it went to cancer research. Meanwhile, Lance buys jets and uses Livestrong money to travel the world, race and raise awareness for cancer. If Lance couldn't personally benefit, there would be no Livestrong

THIS!!!!

I worked in the non-profit arena for a number of years and still hold a board position on a couple in an advisory role (I know how to get grants).

There are very, very, very few charities that actually spend their donations on the purposes they were given for. The largest organizations are the by far the worst at funds mismanagement.

If you really want to help and make a difference find the weird poor couple that run a shelter or something of the like in your hometown. The organziations that are barely surviving because they put all of their resources into their cause.

If the director is driving a Mercedes and they constantly put on soirees and pricey balls with corporate sponsorship it's scammy and your donation will be spent on salaries, rents, advertising, and event planning.

Armstrong banned from Ironman triathlon events.

Armstrong banned from the Chicago Marathon.

Armstrong's name will be expunged from past New York and Boston marathon results.

EDIT: Personally, I think the whole thing is chickenshit. It's one thing for the UCI to ban him, but quite another for other sports' governing bodies like the IAAF, the ITU and USATF to pile on, when he has no chance of being elite in those sports. It would be like FINA banning Roger Clemens from local swimming events or the UCI banning Marion Jones from small bike races.

What does the civil rights community think of this, secscout? If they don't approve, then nothing else matters
