Alabama gets one four-star recruit in Robert Foster and jumps from No. 6 to No. 1. LSU since has gotten a highly rated four star and a highly rated three star and jumps from No. 7 to No. 5. I don't get it.

This is literally discussed every year when this exact same thing happens. The same reason why I canceled my Rivals subscription. Crock of shite.

Rivals is ran by bama grads. It is known that a player is given additional stars for getting a bama offer. Stars continue to mean nothing.

Alabama has a great class as well. Its nice to win the recruiting public opinion poll on paper, but if u are in the top 10 You have a very good class u just never know. mathieu Claiborne Hester Lafell
Logan, Mills, Collins williford and im sure im leaving several others out that are the most recent. Last yr was considered a down yr for LSU recruiting on paper. If it was done today LSU would be ranked much higher maybe 1st.

On the field I can't say they have better talent than us. Most times in terms of talent I don't think that there is much discrepancy between teams ranked in the top 10.

Alabama and LSU are spitting images of each other offensively. Bama runs a 3-4 LSU runs a 4-3 We have better DL's they usually have better LB's, because of this. DB's are gr8 both schools. LSU had held a slight edge at DB's but Alabama has had an edge at QB recently. Both Schools are built to beat each other not much is going to change moving forward between the two styles.

Point #1 - I disagree. How can you say our QBs or WRs are similar in talent. Or for that matter, compare the RBs. There is no way, even as good as ours are, that you can objectively say we are even. Then look at the TE Bama has compared to ours. Way better IMO.I don't say this because I want to, rather because it is the truth.

Point #2 - I totally agree. If you are in the top 10, there is very little difference in talent for a recruiting class.

Everyone wants to go from one site to another and think they are somehow different. Just make sure the site you are moving to is really different. Some people went on to Scout and like it. I do find it funny how a lot of people have now jumped on 247 started by Shannon Terry who is a Bama fan and an original key player in Rivals. Looks like Shannon just keeps reinventing him and making a lot of money.

At least Bama’s performance on the field does not align with the opinions on their recruiting class….

College Football Recruiting Million Dollar Man

The start of 247
24/7 is a new effort of which Bucknuts is on the ground floor along with another 20 or so of the industry’s largest web sites. It is headed by Shannon Terry, previously the founder of Rivals.com. Terry served as Rivals’ Chief Executive Officer, overseeing the corporate strategy, new product development and day-to-day management. He was named to the Sports Business Journal's Forty-Under-40 in 2006 and 2007, and the Forty-Under-40 Hall of Fame in 2008. Terry was also named to the trade publication's 20 Most Influential People in Online Sports list in 2007 and 2008.

Shannon Terry, founder of 247 sports, the third college team site and recruiting company he's founded in the past nineteen years…..

“Born in rural north Alabama in tiny Woodville, population 300, the only child of two cattle farmers…”

…”Growing up Terry was an Alabama fan -- a fact that he still hears about on the message boards today -- but now he says he's more of an SEC and college football fan. "The Auburn people won't believe it," he says, "but it's true."….

Terry has played major roles in
• Alliance Sports.
• Rivals
• 247 Sports

You care too much about stars and rankings.

Start caring more about why this team didn't smash an ACC team in the most highly watched non-bcs bowl of all time, according to espn.

Also, Rivals only ranks the first 25 recruits or something. If you have under that number you get huge moves for commitments.

After you reach that number, adding a highly ranked player only drops-off your 25th highest ranked. Thus smaller move in team rankings.
