I have no problem paying a little more locally. As long as they give friendly service. But if its 15-20% more. Ill look elsewhere.

Ill give them a look when I make my next firearm purchase.

I called the one in Natchez last year looking for a bow(PSE Brute X).He didnt have it but said he would be going to BR for a run and would get it from them and we agreed on a price.I called him the next day to verify he would have it,he said yes.We go to get it and its not there. He said he did not get to go.He had my number and didnt bother to call, said he could get it the next day.I got it somewhere else.

My son and I were in BR and had some time to waste, so we went to Bowie to look arond. A salesman follwed us everywhere we went and made us feel uncomfortable. And it did seem to me that prices were pretty high. That experience turned me off on the place.

I've only been a handful of times. How are their prices on firearms.

They matched the online price of a 1911 and XBolt that I bought a couple years ago. They are high on the clothing though. Not sure how their archery is though.

I used to work there back in 2003 and 2004 during my last semesters at LSU. The markup on clothing is ridiculous there. When I was there, guns prices were good, but the selection was limited. They could order whatever you wanted though. Same with bows and some reels. Some manufacturers like Hoyt and Shimano have a minimum price a retailer can sell their products at. I bought a S&W M&P-15 there for 950 the Tuesday after Newton. I thought it was a fair price given the political climate surround AR's right now.

And yes, Mike is loaded and that store is hobby. They ain't goin anywhere.

Yeah you just expanded on my opinion. Guns are fine but go elsewhere for other stuff.

the owner is very wealthy outside of bowie's and has the store as a almost a hobby from what I have heard. doubt its closing.

since its a local business, im glad it was just a rumor. Since this dude is such a baller can you ask him to lower his damn prices.

The prices really are very comparable to the big box stores. I worked at Bowie a few years back, and although some things are def overpriced, most all of the general clothing and accessories used for hunting and fishing were close to MSRP. People have always bitched ab their prices and I never really understood it.
