Does Jay Z make any music? I was under the impression that he had a guy who came up with the beats that he rapped over.

I'm not sure how this is gonna work out, and it could ruin the movie IMO

I'm thinking so too. And I was looking forward to it. One of the few books I have read.

I doubt it'll ruin the movie. I'm sure they didn't just hand him the keys without knowing what he could do.

I agree with that, but I'm a little worried. I do think if done right, it could be awesome

Saw this news the other day. I'm out. There's a way to bring contemporary music to stories, but Jay-Z is not a fit for this film.

The director's previous movies have featured contemporary music juxtaposed against historical settings in interesting ways, so I think he knows what he is doing. It is a risk, but I'm cautiously optimistic it will turn out well.

Probably would have been better if Kanye did it instead.

Jay-Z is far from the average rapper. I think it has a lot of potential.

if this makes you not want to see the film.

You really never wanted to see it in the first place.

Could be awesome and add a lot to the film, could tear it apart as well though

Not true. I waited years for a Green Hornet movie as a fan of the comic book. I refused to see it as soon as Seth Rogen was named Britt Reid. I really wanted to see a Green Hornet movie...but not that one.

Nice way of comparing apples and oranges in this situation.

Not to mention, expecting Seth Rogan to do a quality job in the Green Hornet is comical.

I swear to God I will leave the theatre if they play rap music during this movie.

Agreed. Both Moulin Rouge and Romeo + Juliet worked out okay musically.
