Davis really needs to work on his offensive game. He stands around most of the time and is shooting a lot of jumpers. He really needs to attack the basket.

Despite what some people seem to think, he's not a guard anymore. He's a big man. You can't give him the ball at the 3 point line, spread the floor, and have him "attack the basket."

They don't give him the ball in the post so he needs to keep working on his mid range jumper. Until then, he'll need to be set up to score by his teammates, like any other big.

Our defense in the paint was absolutely embarrassing tonight.

Monty really needs to stop putting so many defense oriented players on the court at the same time. 1. They aren't super elite defenders. 2. Guys like Aminu, Mcquire, and Thomas have absolutely zero offensive game outside of the occasional put back.

Vasquez had another nice game even though his shot wasn't falling early. He has averaged 19 ppg and 11 apg over the last five games with a 3 a/to ratio.

Agreed on all accounts. Vasquez definitely the best player on the team right now. We need to stop playing so many players and learn to win with the few competitors we actually do have.

The easy layups came basically anytime in 2nd half

But I will agree smith Anderson isn't ideal...Atlanta killed US last nite with that duo in. Smith was real bad last night in offense and over powered on d

Yes, and no. You're not going to put him in isolation situations on the perimeter often, but he absolutely needs to use his athleticism and ball handling to attack off the high pick and roll. If he develops that to go along with a consistent elbow jumper, he could very quickly be an elite player.

that must be why the line moved a whole 0 points when it was announced that Buckie was out.

He doesn't seem to have much of an impact on the game right now. Has he made any plays in crunch time this year to help the team win games? From what I've seen his numbers are decent but they seem to be "quiet".

I don't even know what that means. Has Davis made a jumper late in a game this year in a close game? Has he blocked any shots in the same situations? I have seen a handful of Hornets games and although his numbers are good, I haven't seen him make an impact with the game on the line yet.

Ya he's had a few late blocks and once or twice hit big jumper late.more often than not though ball stays in our guards hands late

We are a team with a serious dearth of talent because of deliberate decisions to free up the roster and cap space in future years. Look at the amount of money we are actually paying players, specifically available players. Brian Roberts, Lance Thomas, and Dominic McGuire log significant minutes. We have 7 wins. There are only so many opportunities for defining plays in there.
