Maybe because we're seeing our rival play for their 3rd BCS title doing that exact thing?

Interesting. We must be watching different games.

We'll always have elements of the spread in our offense but never full spread under Les. The offense we run currently(the style not the actual playcalls) is the best fit for our personnel but 2 things need to happen for it to work the way it's supposed to. 1, the QB has to be able to complete passes down the field and consistenly all over the field. Our inconsistent passing is what has held our offense back. Watch the games where Mett was on this year(2nd half of Bama for one) and you'll see that our offense can be very good when working efficiently. 2, the playcalling needs to have more of plan and just flat out be better. It seems we have no plan to our playcalling.

as long as Miles is at LSU, there won't be a spread offense.

if anything, we need to be multiple like bama's.

We ran a nasty multiple offense during Crowton's first year which was better than any offense Saban has seen. He got introduced the Maryland job because he cannot develop his own QB.
