What are yalls opinions of home builders like DHI and KBH?
Part of me thinks that they are over valued right now, but then again I think they will continue to improve as the housing markets makes a turnaround.

DR Horton built South Point in Denham Springs. It is one of the worst, most poorly built, shiteous quality built neighborhoods you will ever see...with the possible exception of Woodland Ridge in Walker, La...another craptastic DR Horton abortion foisted upon an unsuspecting populace of this area.
Those two neighborhoods are festering boils on the asses of Livingston Parish neighborhoods and will continue to go nowhere but downhill.
They hire cut rate subs, build cut rate homes of cut rate quality and charge far more than they are actually worth...
If I had the power to fashion a word using the King's English to more adequately describe the shittiness of DR Horton Homebuilders, then I assure you I would*
Disclaimer: I have not nor will I ever work for or purchase a home from Horton. I know several folks who worked with them from a realty, contracting/subcontracting, real estate finance, title work and home buying standpoint.
What I know of how they ripped decent people off here at almost every level of their business makes my hate burn strong. If my hate for them were people, then my hate would be India, or perhaps China...

If you are looking for a good builder. Take a look at Roy Domangue (Wooden Creations).
His designs aren't that great, but he builds a great house.
